Hi people, in this first article I'm going to talk about the music. There are a lot of type of music ( Rock and roll, Jazz, Pop... etc. ) but especially now I'm going to write about electronic music.

Definition and characteristics:

Electronic music is music that employs electronic musical instruments and electronic music technology in its production, an electronic musician being a musician who composes and/or performs such music. In general a distinction can be made between sound produced using electromechanical means and that produced using electronic technology. One of the defining characteristics of the electronic sound was the use of drum machines, particularly the Roland TR-808, as the rhythmic basis of the track. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro_%28music%29

History:

The electronic music has a very short history because it is a very recent music type.

- Following the decline of disco music in the late 1970s, various funk artists such as Zapp and Roger began experimenting with talk boxes and the use of heavier, more distinctive beats.

- In 1983, Hashim created the influential electro funk tune which became Cutting Record's first release in November 1983.

- In 2005 emerged the most important festival of the electronic music until today, Tomorrowland.
